We're one month away from the beginning of National Nurses Week – a week dedicated to celebrating nurses, and a time ANA can go above and beyond for the millions of nurses we support and fight for in Washington.
Every year, we choose a theme for National Nurses Week that reflects what is top of mind for the nursing community. This year, our theme is a Culture of Safety – and we believe there is no better time to start a national conversation about what this means for you.
Nurses Week celebrates the courage and dedication of all nurses. Our leaders in Washington could learn from your example. During this Nurses Week, nurses from all across the country will call on Congress to build a Culture of Safety for all nurses – but to do that, they need to hear your voice.
We will compile your answers, feedback and thoughts into one letter during Nurses Week – a letter written by YOU laying out what a Culture of Safety really means.
As health care in America continues to evolve, and a new generation of nurses is needed to help meet rising demands for care, it has never been a more critical time to discuss how we can take responsibility together to create a culture of safety, for patients and their providers.
There can be many competing priorities in health care, but we cannot let the safety of nurses be jeopardized. That's why we're asking you to help define what nurses need to make a reality for our whole community.
Let's make sure nurses across America can work in the Culture of Safety every day of the year.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and helping build a culture of safety for all nurses.
Sincerely,
Michelle Artz
Director, Government Affairs
