Thanks to busy schedules, infection control protocols, and PPE, many nurses are not adequately hydrated. However drinking enough water is one of the best things you can do for your mind, immune system, skin, digestion and so much more. 

“Water makes up 50 – 60% of our body weight and contributes to almost every cellular function in order to maintain overall wellness,” says Lauren Rocha, Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist at the University of Miami Hospital.

Mental health is hurting for many people, especially for nurses. We are strong, but we are not invincible. Compared to before the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses surveyed during the pandemic had higher instances of anxiety disorder (20% vs 16%), depression disorder (16% vs 14%) and 34% of nurses reported feeling sad, down, or depressed for at least 2 weeks (29% before the pandemic).
