Nearly 500 nurses from 49 states and two territories are on Capitol Hill today participating in the American Nurses Association's annual Hill Day. Nurses are urging Congress to reverse a Department of Education rule that excludes advanced nursing from the federal definition of a professional degree, thus limiting federal student loan amounts. Nurses are also educating Congress about the importance of HR-8691/S-4568 to formally recognize nursing as a professional degree.
