Resources to Support Your Mental Well-Being

Every day, across the nation, millions of nurses are experiencing extraordinary stress and other impacts to their mental health and well-being as the coronavirus pandemic progresses.

The American Nurses Foundation’s new Well-Being Initiative offers free tools and resources designed to help care for nurses like you as you tirelessly care for others.

The Well-Being Initiative resources are available to everyone—membership in a professional association is not required.

The Well-Being Initiative is a collaborative effort from the American Nurses Association Enterprise. Find more information and all the Well-Being Initiative resources on the official Well-Being Initiative Website.

From August-December 2020, RNconnect ran as a pilot funded by a grant received from the American Nurses Foundation. Sixteen text messages were sent over an 8-week period. These messages included optimistic and uplifting messages, as well as informational web links to practical well-being exercises and practices. This pilot project was so successful that RNconnectMA was launched in Massachusetts in May 2021.

The COVID-19 pandemic has intensified the need to support mental well-being, especially for nurses who are already facing alarming levels of burnout and psychological trauma. RNconnect 2 Well-being is an opt-in text messaging system where Nurses receive two supportive messages weekly that connect them to self-care resources. Sign up for this free resource by texting RNconnectMA to 60298
