Kevin Tabb, M.D., president and CEO of Beth Israel Lahey Health, will join us on Wednesday, June 23 to discuss his journey as a healthcare leader and the transformative care that the state’s newest health system is providing to patients in the commonwealth.

Kevin Tabb, M.D. is the president and CEO of Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH). Dr. Tabb is responsible for leading a comprehensive integration plan among BILH member organizations to effectively deliver on the promise to offer patients and their families better and broader access to extraordinary individualized care. Previously, Dr. Tabb was the Chief Executive Officer of the Beth Israel Deaconess System and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC).

Before joining BIDMC, he was chief medical officer at Stanford Hospital & Clinics in Stanford, California. There, he had broad strategic and operational responsibilities, which included physician network strategy, clinical quality and patient safety initiatives, regulatory and medical staff affairs, and graduate and continuing medical education. He was previously chief quality and medical information officer at Stanford. Prior to joining Stanford, he led the clinical data service division of GE Healthcare IT.

Raised in Berkeley, California, Dr. Tabb emigrated to Israel at the age of 18 and served in the Israel Defense Forces. He received his undergraduate degree from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and his M.D. from the Hebrew University Hadassah Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Hadassah Hospital.


Steve Walsh

Steve Walsh joined the Massachusetts Health & Hospital Association as president and CEO in November 2017.

A member of the American College of Health Care Executives, Walsh previously served as the Executive Director of the Massachusetts Council of Community Hospitals (MCCH), an organization he led since 2014. During his tenure, Walsh worked with executives from Massachusetts healthcare institutions to promote and drive innovative change in healthcare delivery, policy, and regulation.

Prior to MCCH, Walsh served six terms in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and was appointed chair of the House Committee on Health Care Financing in 2011. He oversaw the drafting and passage of the commonwealth’s 2012 landmark healthcare payment reform law, Chapter 224. This legislation incentivized utilization of alternative payment methodologies and investment in community health, while encouraging patient empowerment and primary care. He was also a conferee of Chapter 288 of the Acts of 2010, the commonwealth's small business healthcare legislation.

Walsh is a graduate of Wesleyan University, the New England School of Law, and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
