Re: Massachusetts Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP)
The Massachusetts Department of Public Health is launching a new, enhanced Online Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) and we need you, your Residents, and your Delegates to register online today! The Massachusetts Prescription Awareness Tool (MassPAT) will be available to conduct patient searches beginning August 22 and it is important for you to sign up for the new system prior to this time. There is no auto-enrollment for MassPAT.
Please register online today: www.mass.gov/dph/MassPAT
Help Desk: If you have any questions, please contact the helpdesk (available 24/7): 1-855-562-4767.
You will be able to continue to use the current Online PMP to conduct patient searches through August 21. Current state regulations require prescribers to check the Online PMP before prescribing a Schedule II-III opioid to a new patient. After August 22, this requirement applies to searching MassPAT. Additionally, on October 15, prescribers will be required to check MassPAT each time they prescribe a Schedule II-III opioid and
when prescribing a benzodiazepine or DPH designated Schedule IV-VI for the first time.
